KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 28, 2024: The tiny toddlers of Arvintree High School, Vasudeva Colony, Karimnagar town, celebrated ‘Rainbow Colour Day’ as a part of their curriculum on Saturday.
It was indeed a fun-filled experience for the little ones while they were made to understand how the phenomena of nature work. The key objective behind conducting this activity was to deliver the concept of “Rainbow colours” (VIBGYOR) to the children through engaging hands-on activities, which will help further enhance their fine motor skills & boost their ability of visual discrimination also.
As part of this activity, the Tiny tots presented a wonderful handcraft that was very well-planned in order to bring out the seven colours of a rainbow and to depict kindergarten learning through seven senses and colours. The activity was successfully carried out by respective class teachers through a demonstration of an experiment by showing a PowerPoint presentation to based on the rainbow theme. The idea behind this celebration was to develop an awareness of the colours in an interesting way that will ensure higher retention and learning outcomes. The curriculum was mainly planned to enable the children to experiment with a wide range of activities.
Teachers also explained how we see the rainbow and the reason behind it was also demonstrated through various experiments. The students also crafted cloud with the rainbow in their art and craft session. Children showed their full excitement in mixing paints to get secondary colours during the experiment. It was indeed a fun-filled day for the little wonders as they were seen completely engaged in practical activities that will also enhance their mental development process.
Eventually, the little munchkins were clearly able to understand how a rainbow is formed by the sunlight shining through raindrops and how the rain bends the light from the sunshine and colour the sky for all of us in the form of a rainbow. School Vice Principal Joyce, coordinators, pre-primary teachers, PETs were also present.
