
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, SEPTEMBER 17, 2026: A three-day workshop on Computerised Accounting and Taxation was formally inaugurated at the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for Women, Shatrajupalli, Vemulawada, in collaboration with the Department of Commerce of the college and Satavahana University, on Thursday.
The workshop is being conducted as part of the Academic Empowerment Programme – 100 Days Initiative being conducted under the aegis of Satavahana University, Karimnagar.
The training programme is being conducted on the theme “A Workshop on Practical Learning with Tally Prime, GST & Income Tax E-Filings.” The workshop aims to provide students with practical knowledge of Computerized Accounting, Tally Prime, GST, Income Tax and related areas. It is intended to enhance students’ employability and professional skills and equip them with practical training in accordance with the current requirements of the accounting sector.
The programme is being conducted under the convenorship of P. S. R. Sharma, Principal, and the co-convenorship of K. Lavanya, Vice Principal. R. Umadevi, Head of the Department of Commerce, is serving as the Coordinator, while K. Sangeetha is the Co-Coordinator.

During Session I and Session II on the first day, D. Harikanth, Head of the Department of Commerce, Satavahana University, provided training to the students. The sessions covered practical aspects of Fundamentals of Tally, Tally Prime, Company Creation, Masters Creation and Configurations, and Recording of Business Transactions, among other topics.
In Session III, Naresh, Assistant Professor, Satavahana University, interacted with the students and provided training on Financial Statements and MIS Reports. He explained the importance of analysing accounting information, preparing financial statements, and understanding the significance of MIS reports.
Faculty members, students and staff of the college participated in the programme. The three-day workshop is expected to provide students with practical exposure to modern accounting skills, particularly Tally Prime, GST and Income Tax E-Filing, thereby strengthening their professional readiness.
