HYDERABAD, AUGUST 24, 2024: Telangana Women’s Commission Chairperson Nerella Sharada has found fault with its members for in an appropriate act of tying Rakhi to former Minister and BRS working president K Taraka Rama Rao during his visit to Commission’s office on Saturday following the issuance of summons.

In a statement here, the Telangana State Women’s Commission Chairperson stated that “It has come to the attention of the Telangana Women’s Commission that six members of the Commission engaged in an inappropriate act by tying a Rakhi to K.T. Rama Rao garu during his visit to the Commission’s office today. K.T. Rama Rao garu had come to the office in response to a summons issued by the Commission.

As a member of the Women’s Commission, it is imperative to maintain impartiality and uphold the integrity of the institution. Taking sides or engaging in any such conduct that may raise questions about the neutrality of the Commission is entirely unacceptable.

I, as the Chairman of the Telangana Women’s Commission, strongly condemn this act. Such behavior is not only unbecoming of the Commission members but also compromises the dignity and impartiality that we are bound to maintain.

I have instructed the Secretary of the Commission to issue notices to the involved members and to take appropriate further action as per the rules and regulations governing the Commission. The Telangana Women’s Commission remains committed to upholding justice and fairness, ensuring that our actions always reflect the seriousness and sensitivity required in matters concerning women’s issues”.
