KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 01, 2024: As a prelude to the ensuing Bathukamma festival, the students of Blue Bells High School, Hanuman Nagar, Karimnagar town, celebrated Bathukamma festivities on Tuesday, amid much pomp and gaiety.
Students and teachers arrived at the school in their best attire and participated in the celebrations. The students and teachers arranged various flowers in conical shapes to make Batukammas with traditional flowers like Gunugu, Thagedu Gummadi and Pattukuchulu. School Principal Janga Sunitha Manohar Reddy, students and teachers dressed in traditional clothes and kept Bathukammas in the centre and danced around by singing traditional songs and playing dandiyas and kolatams. Later, the students presented the specialness of the Dussehra festivals and Navaratri celebrations of Goddess Durga through their dances and dramas dressed as Navadurgas.
Commemorating this occasion, the Principal said that this festival, which is celebrated with joy to make life better for all of us by decorating Bathukammalu with various flowers that add beauty to nature, praised the culture of Telangana. She also spoke and explained the uniqueness of the Bathukamma festival and the manner of celebration.
