Bathukamma festivities begin in the integrated Karimnagar district

Students celebrate the festival of flowers with gaiety in various institutions

KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 01, 2024: As a prelude to the ensuing Bathukamma festivities, the students of various educational institutions celebrated the Bathukamma, the festival of flowers, with religious fervour and gaiety in various parts of integrated Karimnagar district on Tuesday.

At the Government Degree College for Women in Karimnagar town, Principal Varalakshmi, WEC coordinator B Rajani Devi and others participated in the celebrations by arranging the flowers in a conical shape and danced around with gaiety.

The students of Mandal Upper Primary School in Gagireddypalli in Chigurumamidi mandal celebrated the festival of flowers by arranging the flowers and worshipping Goddess Gauri. MEO Vajjala Pavani attended as chief guest distributed ‘kolatams’ to the students donated by Eagles Trust, Karimnagar. Amma Adarsha Patashala committee chairperson Bathini Swapna, school headmaster Kola Ramchandra Reddy, teachers D Narasimha Swamy, P Anuradha, M Anitha Kumari, K Premalatha, V Ravinder and others were also present.

In Jagtial district, the primary school students of Gullakota village in Velgatoor mandal celebrated the festivities with gaiety. The girl students arrived in their best attire and arranged the Bathukammas in a conical shape along with teachers. Headmaster Ch Raji Reddy, teachers S Ramadevi, R Malathi, V Prashanthi, N Naresh Kumar, K Krishna Reddy, Srilatha and parents also participated in the celebrations.

Pre-Bathukamma Celebrations Held Grandly at Mallapur School

Students of Zilla Parishad High School, Mallapur, in Thimmapur mandal celebrated the pre-Bathukamma festival with great enthusiasm. Beautiful and colourful rangolis were drawn, and various types of flowers were collected to create vibrant Bathukammas. The decorated Bathukammas were displayed on the school premises, where special prayers were offered to Goddess Gauri.

The students joyfully sang Bathukamma songs and performed traditional folk dances, captivating the audience with their graceful moves. Following the festivities, the Bathukammas were immersed in the local pond.

The event was attended by the school principal, P. Uma Rani, along with teachers Satyanarayana, Chakradhar, Shafiq, Srinivas Reddy, Rajesham, Lalitha, and Shareef Ahmed, as well as enthusiastic students.
