Students celebrate Kaloji’s birth anniversary at Sister Nivedita School

HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 09, 2024: Students of Sister Nivedita School, Ameerpet, Hyderabad, celebrate Telangana Bhasha Dinotsavam (Telangana language day) to commemorate the birth anniversary of the poet, freedom fighter and social reformer Kaloji Narayana Rao on Monday (September 9, 2024).

Mr Narayana Rao was a prominent figure in the promotion of Telugu literature and his role in the cultural awakening of the Telangana language. The event highlighted the rich linguistic heritage of Telangana, and encouraged the preservation and growth of the Telugu language.

Children dressed up as famous Telangana poets and activists such as Molla, C. Narayana Reddy, Dasarathi, Gaddar and others and reminded about their contribution s towards Telangana and its people. The cultural programmes were a reminder of the state’s pride in its language and traditions and reinforced the importance of maintaining linguistic diversity.

The Principal of the school Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari and Correspondent Rtn. M. Hari Hara Prasad addressed the children by explaining that language is not just a medium of communication; it is a reflection of our identity, culture, and history. Telugu is often called the “Italian of the East” due to its melodic sound, and it is our responsibility to preserve and promote this beautiful language and the importance of the Telugu language, the contributions of Kaloji Narayana Rao, and encourage the school community to take pride in their linguistic and cultural heritage. Chairman Dr Sudhakar Rao Polsani conveyed his wishes to the students.
