Student leader demands probe into Satavahana University question paper leakages scam

Submits petition to Commissioner of Police Abhishek Mohanty. The CP writes to Karimnagar town ACP to probe into the issue

KARIMNAGAR, JANUARY 29, 2024: The Telangana State BC Student Organisation has urged Commissioner of Police Abhishek Mohanty to probe into the leakages of Degree question papers belonging to the Satavahana University in the year 2021.

In a memorandum submitted to the CP on Monday and a copy of which was released to the media, the Telangana state BC student organisation president S Rajesh Goud said that the Degree question papers were leaked in 2021 and became viral on social media. During the period, university Vice Chancellor S Mallesham had ordered constitution of a four-man committee. But, so far no action was initiated against any of the accused persons and caused mental agony to the bright students, he stated.

Charging that the University was losing its identity due to inefficiency of the VC Mallesham, the student leader urged the CP to conduct an inquiry into the irregularities in the university examination branch and probe into the role of Controller of Examinations SV Ranga Prasad, Registrar M Varaprasad and against the VC Mallesham for his lackadaisical attitude in making accused go scot-free in spite of leakage of the degree examination papers. The student leader alleged that the present University VC had bought lot of dispute to the prestigious university due to his negligent and corrupt practices and encouraging the retired and tainted lecturers for ‘obvious’ reasons.

The CP had directed the Karimnagar Town ACP to probe into the issue and take necessary action. It was alleged that the Satavahana University authorities had purposefully diluted the case with the influence of the then ruling party leaders belonging to the BRS to protect the accused persons, who were heading the university.
