KARIMNAGAR, JULY 20, 2024: On the occasion of World Chess day, Vishwanath Chess Academy inaugurated the two-day Telangana state-level Open Chess competitions at Fundus high school in Karimnagar town on Saturday.
Mayor Y Sunil Rao has formally launched the competitions by lighting the lamp and making the first move of the game. Municipal corporator Sridevi Chandramouli, School chairman Padmaja Prabhakar Reddy, Director Sushank Reddy and others were also present. To mark the World Chess day, a specially designed cake like a chessboard was cut on the occasion.
