St Mary’s Global School students pledge to uphold integrity and unity of India in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 08, 2025: India is a land of diversity and rich colourful culture, which is a testimony of various people living here. To celebrate the spirit of India, the students depicted the Indian culture, traditions and unity in diversity at an exhibition called “Proud to be an Indian” organised at St Mary’s Global School, Kothi Rampur, Karimnagar town on Saturday.

The celebrations began with the school campus embracing the essence of our Indian Constitution and the strength of Unity in Diversity by placing the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar and the Indian Constitution book.  The school placed a selfie point with the Indian Map, India Gate and Red Fort. Besides, the school also displayed the scriptures of Holy Books such as the Bhagavad Gita, the Quran and the Bible.

Right from the tiny tots of primary sections to the students of High School sections, all have actively participated in the programme and promoted the spirit of patriotism. They displayed the culture, dresses, traditions, food habits, rivers, and cultivation of various crops in different states of the country. The students also greeted the visitors including their parents in the language of the particular state they were participating in the exhibit. They also explained the different locations in different states symbols etc.

Students also donned the role of Freedom Fighters and reminded the sacrifices made by our forefathers. Donning the dresses of different religions of the country, they said that India is proud to be a secular country in the world and unity in diversity.

St Mary’s Global School Correspondent Elsa Jose commended the students for their stellar performances and underscored the importance of upholding the values enshrined in the Constitution. She expressed pride in the students and staff for their commitment to fostering patriotism and a sense of responsibility towards the nation. The day was filled with pride and gratitude for the freedom and democracy India cherishes.

Principal Jose said the students had depicted Patriotism is a bridge connecting a citizen to his motherland. “Patriotism is not something to define, claim or proclaim, it’s something that can’t be explained in words. It’s not something it’s everything. Patriotism is not a discipline that ought to be followed or a duty that has to be done, it is devotion that stirs every heart”, he maintained.
