HYDERABAD, FEBRUARY 08, 2025: Officials of the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana, detected an allopathic medicine ‘Alka-Shot Oral Solution,’ moving in the market with the misleading claim on its labels that it treats ‘Kidney Stones’ which is a contravention of the Drugs Rules, 1945.
Rule 106 (Schedule J) of Drugs Rules, 1945 prohibits claims of certain drugs for treatment of certain diseases and disorders. No drug shall make claims regarding the diseases/disorders specified in Schedule J of Drugs Rules, 1945.
During the raid conducted on 7th February to detect medicines moving in the market with misleading claims, the DCA officials detected ‘Alka-Shot Oral Solution,’ Manufactured by: Corona Remedies Private Limited, Village: Jatoli, Post: Oachghat, Tehsil. Solan, Distt. Solan, Himachal Pradesh, at a medical store in Bhupalpally. Stocks were seized during the raid.
The claim of a medicine for the treatment of ‘Kidney Stones’ is prohibited under the Drugs Rules, 1945. P Pavani, Drugs Inspector, Bhupalpally carried out the raid. Further investigation shall be carried out and action shall be taken as per the law against all the offenders.
