KOTHAGUDEM, AUGUST 14, 2026: Singareni Collieries Company Limited Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Buddha Prakash Jyoti inaugurates 1.23 MW Rooftop Solar Power Plants installed on company buildings within the Singareni Corporate Area Buildings Complex at Kothagudem, on Friday.
One segment of a 100 kW rooftop solar plant installed on top of the Head Office Main Building was formally connected to the Grid.
Speaking on the occasion, SCCL Chairman noted that Singareni has long been recognised as a Coal-producing Company. With the advent of the business expansion initiatives undertaken recently, Singareni Collieries is making its mark not only in the Thermal power sector but also in Solar and floating solar power generation. As an eco-friendly measure alongside its Coal and Thermal power operations, the Company has already installed 245.5 MW capacity of Solar plants across various vacant sites within its premises; furthermore, in accordance with directives from the Central and Telangana governments, additional Solar plants will be set up to meet National and State energy requirements.

He also mentioned that Solar Rooftop systems are being installed on the Company’s buildings, expressing great pleasure in inaugurating the 1.23 MW Rooftop Solar power plants installed on buildings within the Corporate Area today.
The inauguration Ceremony was attended by The Chairman & Managing Director Dr. Buddha Prakash Jyoti, Director (Operations) Sri L.V. Suryanarayana, Director (Projects & Planning) Sri K. Venkateswarlu, Director (E&M) Sri M. Thirumala Rao, GM (Coordination) Sri Tadaboyina Srinivas, GM (CP&P) Sri A. Manohar, GM (E&M) – Workshop & Energy Management Sri K. Srinivasulu, Recognized Union (AITUC) Branch Secretary S.V. Ramana Murthy, Representative Status Union (INTUC) Senior Vice President C. Tyagarajan, Corporate CMOAI Vice President Keshava Rao, along with other officials, employees, and representatives of labour unions have participated.
