KOTHAGUDEM, JUNE 03, 2025: Singareni Collieries Company Limited Chairman and Managing Director N Balaram has called upon the officials to take all measures to lay a golden path for the progress of the SCCL by opening new mines in all areas, increase coal production and its quality and its transportation.

The SCCL chairman had conducted a review meeting with the 12 area general managers of the Singareni at Kothagudem main office on Tuesday. On this occasion, the CMD discussed various about the progress and development of the SCCL to meet the future requirements of the power sector and the other allied sectors.
The CMD is personally engaging with employees and officials on the ground to instill a sense of responsibility and motivate them. As part of this initiative, he remained at the company headquarters in Kothagudem and met with all key stakeholders, including 762 manager-level officers, SC/ST/BC liaison officers, and trade union leaders.
On Tuesday, he conducted extensive, one-on-one reviews with Area GMs, providing strategic direction for the company’s future. In an unprecedented move, he spent over 10 hours in continuous review sessions with the Area GMs. He elaborated on the company’s expansion plans and the vital role Area GMs play in addressing current challenges. Discussing local issues specific to each area, he suggested potential solutions and ensured real-time intervention, speaking directly to contractors involved in overburden removal to resolve bottlenecks.
He emphasised focused attention on coal production, safe and high-quality mining, and uninterrupted transportation. He issued a stern warning that strict action would be taken against those who do not perform efficiently.
Mr Balram made it clear that without new mines, areas like Yellandu, Manuguru, and Bellampalli will face an uncertain future. Therefore, he urged proactive efforts to secure permissions, especially forest clearances, without delay. He stressed the need to focus on loss prevention in underground mines and announced the formation of a special committee to address losses in the prestigious Shanthikhani and Adriyala Longwall projects.
He instructed that employees must utilise their full work shifts with machinery, and those negligent in their duties may be removed if necessary. He insisted that absenteeism must be significantly reduced and dealt with strictly.
During the review, the CMD also examined the status of coal production at Naini and called for smooth logistics and coal movement. As part of improving coal quality, he suggested exploring the possibility of establishing a coal washery at Sathupalli.
The meeting in Kothagudem was attended by Director (E&M) D Satyanarayana Rao, Director (Operations) L.V. Suryanarayana, Director (Planning, Projects & Personnel) K. Venkateshwarlu, Executive Director (Coal Movement) S.D.M. Subhani, GM (CPP) A. Manohar, along with Area General Managers and Corporate General Managers.
