SCCL urges SCR to ensure that there were 40 railway rakes for transportation of coal to thermal power stations
HYDERABAD, DECEMBER 21, 2024: In the wake of the promotion of green energy by setting up solar power plants in the Telangana state, the Singareni Collieries Company Limited has bagged the prestigious Energia Award for the best environmentally mining and solar manufacturing company.
At a programme organised in Visakhapatnam on Friday night, Central Electricity Authority (CEA) chairman Ghan Shyam Prasad handed over the award to Singareni Director (E&M) D Satyanarayana Rao and General Manager Coordination S D M Subhani. On Saturday morning, the SCCL officials handed over the award to Singareni Chairman and Managing Director N Balram at Singareni Bhavan in Hyderabad. On this occasion, Mr Balram said receiving such an award at the national level was very inspiring and that Singareni would continue to promote environmentally friendly mining and also produce solar power on a large scale.
SCCL chairman meets SCR general manager
SCCL chairman Balram met South Central Railway general manager Arun Kumar Jain in his chambers at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad on Saturday. On this occasion, Mr Balram informed the SCR general manager to ensure that there were adequate railway rakes for the transportation of coal to various thermal power stations following the demand in the power sector.
The SCCL urged the SCR authorities to ensure that there were at least 40 rakes per fay for the transportation of coal from the mining areas to the thermal power stations to meet the growing demand of power in the country. The SCR general manager assured to provide adequate railway rakes for the transportation of coal to the thermal power stations. General manager Ravi Prasad and others were also present.
