PEDDAPALLI, SEPTEMBER 18, 2024: An awareness programme on women’s safety and security was held at Government Degree and PG College in Peddapalli town on Wednesday.
The session was aimed at creating awareness and educating the students on safety measures and self-defence strategies, especially focusing on women’s safety. It was also aimed to equip students with the knowledge of using safety tools like the “T-Safe” app, the Dial 100 emergency service, and the Cyber Crime Helpline number 1930.
The SHE Team members, Assistant Sub-Inspector Mallanna and Woman Police Constable Snehalatha led the session, demonstrating the importance of these safety tools in preventing and responding to crimes, particularly those targeting women.
They highlighted the role of the “T-Safe” app in providing real-time assistance during emergencies and encouraged students to make use of the Dial 100 helpline for immediate police support. Additionally, they stressed the significance of the Cyber Crime Helpline (1930), which aids victims of online fraud and cyber harassment.
The programme also included a session on self-defence, teaching women essential techniques to protect themselves in difficult situations. College Principal K Laxmi Narsaiah, Vice Principal A Satish Kumar, Women Empowerment Cell coordinator M Archana and other faculty members were also present.
The event reflects the ongoing commitment of law enforcement and educational institutions to promote a safer and more secure environment for women.
