Special Measures Taken as per Directions of State and Central Governments
In view of the El Niño conditions and the need to accord priority to the power requirements of Telangana State, SCCL has been coordinating with Power sector institutions and taking special measures to enhance coal production and transportation. As per the directions of the State and Central Governments, the company has taken steps to supply the required coal to thermal power plants to the extent possible.
Every day, SCCL Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti interacts with the General Managers of all areas and is closely monitoring coal transportation along with the achievement of production targets. To ensure smooth transportation of coal to thermal power stations, five senior officials have been entrusted with special responsibilities for monitoring the transportation process.
SCCL considers meeting the power requirements of Telangana State as a moral responsibility rather than approaching coal sales purely from a business perspective. Accordingly, the company is transporting a larger share of its coal to thermal power stations within Telangana State.
Sharing these details, SCCL Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti stated that the company is moving forward in a fully planned manner to achieve the annual targets of 620 lakh tonnes of coal production and 650 lakh tonnes of coal transportation.
