AURA 2K26 – A Gen Z Gala Celebrated with Enthusiasm and Vibrant Cultural Performances at GDC Jagtial
JAGTIAL, OCTOBER 01, 2026: Telangana Chief Minister and Education Minister A Revanth Reddy is giving special attention to promoting government colleges with the objective of providing quality education in government educational institutions, said Jagtial MLA Dr Sanjay Kumar. He was speaking as the Chief Guest at AURA 2K26 – A GenZ Gala, the Freshers’ Party organised by Government Degree College for Women (Autonomous), Jagtial, on Thursday.
On the occasion, MLA Dr Sanjay Kumar appreciated the college for steadily enhancing its academic standards and emerging as an institution that can stand on par with corporate colleges. He stated that the government was introducing several new courses to provide students with quality education, skill development and better employment opportunities.
He highlighted the importance of the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance) and Healthcare-related AEDP courses introduced by the government, stating that these programmes would help students acquire industry-relevant skills and improve their employability.

Referring to the changing educational landscape in the digital era, he observed that blended learning had become essential. While technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) were playing an increasingly important role in education, he emphasised that AI could never replace a teacher. He underlined the vital role of teachers in nurturing human values, creativity, ethics and critical thinking among students.
The MLA also appreciated Principal Prof. K. Ramakrishna and the teaching and non-teaching staff for their dedicated efforts towards the development of the college.
The programme was presided over by Principal Prof. K. Ramakrishna. Manchala Krishna, a prominent social service worker and Jagtial In-charge of the Heartfulness Organisation, attended as the Guest of Honour. In his address, he encouraged students to cultivate a spirit of service, discipline and human values alongside academic excellence. He also emphasised the importance of teachers in shaping students into responsible and creative individuals.
Manchala Krishna expressed his willingness to contribute books worth approximately ₹50,000 to the college library as his personal support for the academic development of students.
The cultural performances were a major attraction of the event. Students captivated the audience with vibrant folk dances reflecting the rich culture and traditions of Telangana, performances representing various Indian states, dances to popular film songs and melodious singing. The celebrations, organised to welcome the newly admitted students, were filled with energy, joy and enthusiasm. The performances showcased the artistic talent, confidence and creativity of the students.
The event was attended by Governing Body Member Raju, Ward Member Tirumalayya, Vice Principal G. Chandraiah, In-charge Principal Prof. T. Pramod Kumar, Prof. V. Varaprasad, IQAC Coordinator N. Vasavi, Academic Coordinator G. Ramchandram, TSKC Coordinator Kumari G. Neeraja, NSS Programme Officer D. Sujatha, Head of the Department of History S. Mallikarjun, Staff Secretary N. Sangeetha Rani, G. Srilatha, Jamuna and other faculty members.
More than 1,000 students participated in the celebrations, making AURA 2K26 a memorable occasion filled with cultural vibrancy, friendship and youthful enthusiasm.
