HYDERABAD, JULY 12, 2024: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy suggested that the HYDRA (Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection) should be entrusted the responsibility of the management of the area in the limits of 2,000 square km up to ORR (Outer Ring Road).
Transfer the powers of removal of unauthorized hoardings, flexies and collection of penalties to the HYDRA from the GHMC jurisdiction. Ensure the police station limits and the assembly constituency limits come under the same zone in the zonal division.
Conduct a study to bring stringent rules to curb the encroachment of Nalas, Ponds and the government lands. Make sure coordination between HMDA, Water Works, Disaster Management and Municipal departments regularly.
HYDRA should be developed as a strong system. Consider special allocations to HYDRA, if necessary. Formulate complete modalities and guidelines before the start of the Assembly session.
