HYDERABAD, MAY 14, 2026: The Government Degree College, Rajendranagar has been successfully conducting Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika – Education Week celebrations from 11th May to 17th May 2026 under the guidance of M. Himabindu, Principal with active participation from faculty members, students, parents, NSS volunteers, and local leaders.
Day–1: Inaugural Ceremony and Brochure Release
The Education Week celebrations commenced with the official release of the Day-wise Schedule Brochure in the presence of local leaders, the MEO of Shamshabad Mandal, faculty members, and students. On this occasion, M. Himabindu, Principal, all staff members, NSS Programme Officer S. D. Bhavani, and 80 NSS Volunteers attended the Telangana State Chief Minister’s Education Week Inaugural Ceremony at LB Stadium, Hyderabad. The programme created awareness about government educational initiatives and student development activities.
Day–2: Student Development Day
As part of Student Development Day, the college organised Yoga and Meditation Sessions led by a Yoga Expert to promote students’ physical and mental well-being. M Himabindu conducted a special Mental Health Awareness Programme, emphasizing the importance of stress management, emotional balance, positive thinking, and healthy lifestyles among present-day students.

On this occasion, S. D. Bhavani, Career Guidance Cell Coordinator, informed final-year students about the Free PG Entrance Coaching Programmes available at ID College – GDC Hayatnagar and Erstwhile ID College – GDC Kukatpally across various subjects, and encouraged them to utilise the free coaching facilities for higher education opportunities.
Day–3: Interaction with Local Leaders and Student Felicitation
The college organised an interactive programme with Sarpanches and local leaders regarding the development, achievements, academic progress, student enrolment, and community service activities of the college. The dignitaries appreciated the efforts of the institution in promoting quality education and social responsibility.
On this occasion, the college felicitated outstanding students for their excellence in academics, sports, and community service activities. The programme motivated students to strive for excellence in various fields and contribute positively to society.
Day–4: Mega Parent–Teacher Meeting and Outreach Programme
A Mega Parent–Teacher Meeting was conducted to explain the academic activities, student support programmes, career guidance initiatives, NSS activities, and achievements of the college. Parents were encouraged to motivate their children toward higher education and active participation in college programmes.
As part of the outreach activities, the college organized the “Akshayapatra – Rice Donation Programme” to promote social responsibility and humanitarian values among students. Parents, local leaders, faculty members, and students actively participated in donating rice for distribution to orphanages and old age homes. The programme reflected the institution’s commitment toward community service and helping the needy.
The Education Week celebrations at Government Degree College, Rajendranagar are being conducted successfully with enthusiastic participation from students, staff, parents, NSS volunteers, and community members, promoting education, social awareness, student welfare, and community development.
