KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 15, 2026: Vivekananda Residential School (CBSE), Karimnagar, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on its school premises on Saturday.
The celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief Guest and School Correspondent, M. Hari Hara Prasad, followed by a soulful rendition of the National Anthem by the school choir as the entire assembly stood at attention to salute the Tricolour.
The programme was organised in the spirit of “Yuva Shakti for Viksit Bharat@2047”, with a strong emphasis on patriotism, unity, discipline, and the responsibilities of young citizens towards the nation.
The celebrations featured inspiring speeches by student leaders Jyoshna, Head Girl, and Dhaman, Deputy Head Boy. Students presented a variety of cultural programmes, including patriotic songs and dances by the Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, and Topaz Houses, showcasing their talent, teamwork, and house spirit.
Chief Guest M. Hari Hara Prasad highlighted the significance of Independence Day and urged students to uphold the values of unity, innovation, and determination. He encouraged them to contribute towards building a brighter future for the nation.
Mr. Gandra Laxman Rao, Member of the Advisory Committee, graced the occasion with his presence. In his address, he encouraged students to dream big and work with dedication. He emphasised the importance of discipline, perseverance, moral values, and hard work in achieving success.
Principal Dr. Retheesh appreciated the dedication and enthusiasm displayed by the students and faculty. He stated that Independence Day is not merely a celebration of freedom but also an occasion to remember the sacrifices of the nation’s heroes and inspire the younger generation to contribute towards building a progressive and responsible society.
Chairman Dr. Polsani Sudhakar Rao, Director of Academics Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari, Principal Dr. Retheesh, and Headmistress Mrs. V. Anitha conveyed their Independence Day greetings and urged students to uphold the values of unity, discipline, dedication, and responsibility. They emphasised that education should focus not only on academic excellence but also on character building, moral values, leadership, and love for the nation.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Vice Principal Mr. Prashanth, followed by the distribution of sweets among the students and staff. The celebration ended on a patriotic note, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of pride, unity, and commitment towards the nation.
