PEDDAPALLI, OCTOBER 02, 2024: NTPC Ramagundam and Telangana joined the nation in celebrating the 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi with a series of events aimed at promoting Gandhian values of cleanliness, sustainability and unity on Wednesday. The day began with a spirited Morning Walk and a Mass Tree Plantation drive held near the GM Bungalow at PTS, reinforcing NTPC’s commitment to environmental conservation and the promotion of green spaces.
The celebrations continued at the Mahatma Gandhi Stadium, where Mr Kedar Ranjan Pandu, Executive Director (Ramagundam & Telangana), paid tribute to the Father of the Nation by offering floral respects at his statue. In his address, Mr Pandu reflected on the immense sacrifices made by Mahatma Gandhi during India’s struggle for independence. He emphasized the importance of incorporating Gandhian principles into our daily lives, particularly the practice of cleanliness, non-violence, and truth.
He also encouraged everyone to instil these values in the younger generation, highlighting the need for individual responsibility in creating a cleaner and more sustainable environment. He urged all present to ensure that their surroundings remain clean, in keeping with Gandhiji’s vision of a Swachh Bharat.
The event witnessed the participation of General Managers, Heads of Departments, senior members of DMS, representatives from various unions and associations, and residents of the NTPC township. Their presence underscored the community spirit and collective resolve to follow the path shown by Mahatma Gandhi. The celebration not only paid homage to the Father of the Nation but also served as a reminder of the values that continue to inspire NTPC’s mission of sustainable growth and social responsibility.
