PEDDAPALLI, AUGUST 16, 2024: NTPC Ramagundam celebrated the 78th Independence Day with patriotism and enthusiasm at Mahatma Gandhi stadium in the township on Thursday.
Mr Kedar Ranjan Pandu, Executive Director (Ramagundam & Telangana) unfurled the national flag. The CISF unit then presented the guard of honour followed by the parade of students from different schools of Township.
Speaking on the occasion Mr Pandu said: “Today, as we gather to celebrate the 78th anniversary of our nation’s independence, we are reminded of the sacrifices, courage, and determination of those who fought for our freedom. It is because of their unwavering spirit that we stand here today, as citizens of a free and sovereign India. Independence Day is not just a commemoration of our past; it is also an opportunity to reflect on our present and to envision our future. As we raise the tricolor today, we reaffirm our commitment to the values of justice, equality, and unity that form the bedrock of our great nation”.
He also highlighted the achievements of NTPC and its contribution in the development of the country and the upcoming solar projects 0f 176 MW which will be inaugurated soon by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also talked about the coming 2400 MW of NTPC-Telanagana Super Thermal Power Project. He highlighted the success story of NTPC-Ramagundam and how it has been widely acknowledged and awarded by various renowned agencies.
Students from various schools of NTPC Township showcased their cultural talents, enhancing the overall splendor of the event. On this occasion, Mr Kedar Ranjan Pandu along with other dignitaries presented Business Unit Head (BUH) Meritorious Award to NTPC employees for their outstanding performances.
CISF personnel, ICH & security officials were also felicitated for rendering their round the clock tireless services. Best performers in the parade were awarded. Winners of various sports event by Jyothika Welfare association were also encouraged with awards.
Mrs Chinmoyee Das, President DMS, All GMs, Senior commandant, CISF, HODs, members of Deepthi Mahila Samithi, Office bearers of Unions and Associations, students of various schools and all the employees with their families were present on the occasion.
