Revanth Reddy’s vision in setting up Fourth City is amazing: Foxconn Chairman Young Liu
NEW DELHI, AUGUST 16, 2024: Foxconn Chairman Young Liu said that Hyderabad city has the potential to expand in all sectors, including industrial and service sectors. He opined that the city holds immense potential for future growth.
During a meeting with Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at his official residence in New Delhi on Friday, Mr Liu announced plans to visit Hyderabad with his team in the near future. The Foxconn delegation, led by Liu, was briefed by CM Revanth Reddy on Hyderabad’s rich history, industrial prospects and favourable climatic conditions. The Chief Minister emphasised Hyderabad’s consistent industrial progress over the years, which remains unhampered by changes in governments.
The Chief Minister elucidated about the phase-wise development of three cities in Hyderabad, whose foundation stone was laid under 430 years. He outlined the development of the Fourth City, which will focus on multifaceted growth in sectors such as education, medicine, sports, electronics, electrical industries, and skill development.
The CM highlighted the establishment of the Young India Skill Development University, a key component of the Fourth City project on the outskirts of Hyderabad. He said that eminent industrialists are involved in the design of the syllabus to provide the necessary skills and human resources that equips the youth with modern industry skills.
As part of that, top industrialist Anand Mahindra has been appointed as the chairman of Skill University and another industrialist Srinivasa Raju has been appointed as the vice chairman. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy explained to them all the advantages of Hyderabad including International Airport, Outer Ring Road (ORR), Regional Ring Road (RRR).
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy assured Foxconn of full support, including necessary permits and incentives, for setting up their factories in the Fourth City. The CM Invited Foxconn to invest in Fourth City.
State IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu also briefed Liu on the government’s pro-industrial policies, incentives, and international collaborations aimed at boosting industrial development. Mr Sridhar Babu told Chairman Young Liu about the steps taken by the government led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for industrial development, the incentives provided, and the discussions and agreements made by his team led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy during recent visit to USA and South Korea.
Yang Liu commended Revanth Reddy’s visionary approach and said Foxconn is eager to explore investment opportunities in Hyderabad. He announced plans for an initial visit by a team led by Chief Campus Operations Officer Kathy Yang and India representative V. Lee, with a follow-up visit by Liu himself.
Young Liu, chairman of Foxconn, said that he was very impressed by the Chief Minister’s vision and pro-industrial policies in the design of the Fourth City. Young Liu congratulated Chief Minister Revanth Reddy saying that the CM’s vision in pro-industrial policies along with Fourth City is excellent. He said that he will visit Hyderabad as soon as possible.
The meeting also saw the presence of several high-ranking officials from both the Telangana government and Foxconn, signaling the beginning of a potentially significant partnership for Hyderabad’s industrial development.
State Government Special Secretary (IT, Electronics and Communications) Jayesh Ranjan, Special Secretary Dr. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy (Investment Promotion and External Engagement), Chief Minister’s Special Secretary were present in the meeting Ajith Reddy, Electronics, Semiconductors and Energy Storage Dr. SK Sharma, President of SBG from Foxconn Bob Chen, CBG GM JH Wu, Chief Campus Operations Officer Kathy Yang, CSBG Deputy GM Hsu Shou-kuo, C-Group Manager Simon Song ), Indian country representative of the organization V Lee and others participated.
