
KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 11, 2026: The annual Dasara Sharan Navarathri festivities began at the famous Sri Maha Shakthi temple in Chaitanyapuri locality in Karimnagar town on Sunday (October 11, 2026), with goddess Maha Durga appearing in Bala Tripura Sundari Devi on the first day of festivities.
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, who has taken up Bhavani Deeksha, has personally supervised arrangements for several thousands of devotees thronging temple shrine to offer prayers to the presiding deities. The Union Minister had participated in the special puja along with the devotees.
The first Alankaram of Navaratri at Sri Maha Shakthi Temple celebrates Sri Bala Tripura Sundari Devi, symbolising purity, innocence, divine grace, and the beauty of childhood. The Goddess appears in her child form, reminding us that every great power begins with innocence and grows into strength. As Navaratri unfolds, she manifests in different divine forms, blessing devotees with courage, prosperity, wisdom, and protection.

The Union Minister participated in the Dwajarahonam at the temple to launch the Navaratri celebrations. Mayor Kolagani Srinivas and others were also present.
The temple authorities had made elaborate arrangements for providing lunch and evening snacks (tiffins) to the devotees wearing the Bhavani Deeksha mala through the Navarathri celebrations. There will be spiritual discourses on ‘Sri Bhagavata Vaibhavanm’ daily in the evening by eminent pandit Garrepalli Maheshwara Sharma.
Similarly, a Dandiya programme will be held every night at 9 PM, featuring spiritual themes and devotional songs that reflect the rich culture of Telangana.
