A Display of Sportsmanship and Team Spirit
KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 29, 2024: Vivekananda Residential School (CBSE), Karimnagar, celebrated the National Sports Day with great enthusiasm, focusing on a series of sports events for students on Thursday.
The day is dedicated to the memory of the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, highlighted the importance of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students.
The event kicked off with ceremonial lamp lighting by the Principal Mrs. Renuka Balivada. The significance of sports in holistic education was emphasized through the celebration. The students were reminded of Major Dhyan Chand’s contributions to Indian hockey and the need to emulate his dedication and passion.
The cluster sports competitions featuring a variety of games, including volleyball, throwball, kabadi, and athletics were conducted for the class 9 and 10 students. Each event saw spirited participation by all the four houses, with students showcasing their skills and determination with the teams displaying excellent coordination and strategic play.
Chairman Dr.Sudhakar Rao Polasani and the Director (Academics) Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari congratulated all the participants for their effort and sportsmanship, encouraging them to continue striving for excellence in both sports and academics.
