Indira Mahila Shakthi scheme beneficiary opens Karimnagar Dairy Parlour in Rudravaram village

RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, SEPTEMBER 25, 2024: For the first time, women Self-Help Group members have opened a dairy parlour in association with the Karimnagar Milk Producer Company Limited aka Karimnagar Dairy in the interior Rudravaram village of Vemulawada Rural mandal on Wednesday

As part of the Indira Mahila Shakthi Scheme, V Saritha from Rudravaram village had applied for setting up a dairy parlour in her village for her economic activities through DRDA. The DRDA had written to the Karimnagar Dairy for the sanction of dairy parlour to the women SHG member. After collecting the security deposit of Rs 1.25 lakhs (SHG women secured financial support as bank loan), the Karimnagar Dairy had sanctioned the dairy parlour to Saritha by providing all the necessary equipments, refrigerators and infrastructure for the sale of Karimnagar Dairy milk and milk products. The women SHG member would earn profits through commission provided by the Dairy for selling their products.

Government Whip and Vemulawada legislator Adi Srinivas had formally inaugurated the dairy parlour along with Dairy Chairman Ch Rajeshwar Rao.  On this occasion, DRDA project Director Seshadri suggested the Karimnagar Dairy authorities to set up at least 20 dairy parlours through women SHG members under Indira Mahila Shakthi scheme for the economic empowerment as well as sales of the Karimnagar Dairy products. Accordingly, the Karimnagar Dairy chairman assured to take all measures to open 20 parlours in Rajanna-Sircilla district.

Earlier, the Government whip had also inaugurated a ladies emporium in Rudravaram village and a beauty parlour in Vemulawada town sanctioned under the Indira Mahila Shakthi scheme. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Adi Srinivas said that the Telangana government under guidance of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had decided to make all SHG women as millionaires in a phased manner.

He said that the CM had decided to allocate Rs 20,000 crore annually for the women SHGs and take up various economic activities. Reminding that Dr YS Rajashekhar Reddy introduced pavalavaddi scheme for SHGs and Kiran Kumar Reddy had sanctioned interest-free loans to women SHGs, he said Revanth Reddy had decided to make every SHG woman in millionaire.

He said that in Rajanna-Sircilla district they were providing Rs 600 crore as loans to SHG women and sanctioned 7079 units. So far, 3030 units have been grounded, he said and urged the womenfolk to utilize the opportunity by availing a total of 125 various employment opportunities.
