KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 05, 2025: The Indian Medical Association (IMA) Karimnagar chapter and Karimnagar Obstetrics and Gynaecologists Society (KOGS) observed World Environment Day by planting saplings in Karimnagar town on Thursday.
On this occasion, the doctors have also educated the people to discourage the use of plastic and check the spread of cancer. The theme of World Environment Day highlights our urgent responsibility to protect our health, wildlife, and ecosystems from the dangers of plastic, the doctors stated.

As part of the mission, the IMA leadership—President Dr. Naresh Anamalla, Secretary Dr. Siripuram Naveen Kumar, and Treasurer Dr. Ch. Vijay Kumar—alongside KOGS Secretary Dr. M.S.L. Sravanthi and KOGS Treasurer Dr. Swapna, took action by planting saplings at the IMA Harithaharam site and cleaning up plastic waste from the area.
IMA President Dr Naresh said that “We should be thankful to trees for every breath we take. Planting trees is the need of the hour as we need to take care of our planet if the human race is to survive. We should teach people to take the initiative by planting trees, promoting waste management, harvesting rainwater and using the planet’s limited resources judiciously.”
Many esteemed senior IMA doctors, including Dr. B.N. Rao, Dr. Mohan Reddy, Dr. Kishan, Dr. Aleem, Dr. Laxman, Dr. Arun Katari, Dr. Sunil Reddy, Dr. Ravi, Dr. Meghana, and Dr. Radhika, also joined this meaningful initiative, planting vibrant fruit and flower saplings at the site.
The doctors reiterated their messages—“Reduce, Reuse, Recycle,” “Protect Our Planet Today for a Healthier Tomorrow,” and “Save Earth, Save Life”—remind us that “Every piece of plastic costs the Earth peace.”
