
KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 05, 2025: With the theme of World Environment Day being ‘Combating Plastic Pollution, Daram Susheela Devi Charitable Trust in Karimnagar town has distributed cloth bags in Karimnagar town on Thursday.
Dr Daram Raghu Raman, senior physician of the Karimnagar town, along with Dr Srijyothi, dermatologist and along with their staff, participated in the programme of distributing the cloth bags to the patients who visited their hospitals and educated them about the importance of discouraging the use of plastics.

Dr Raghuram said that the initiative was taken up with an aim of encouraging people to replace plastic bags with cloth bags, as plastic was harmful to the environment as well as the people, as it causes cancer. He said that the plastic bags pollute the surroundings and do not decompose, leading to long-term environmental damage.
He also urged the people to stop using plastic bags and instead adopt cloth bags and use steel utensils to help the environment clean and make the city more beautiful. He informed the people that carrying food products from various eateries including tiffin centres, curry points, etc, in plastic bags would cause cancer.
