KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 28, 2026: Hindi is the true torchbearer of Indian languages. Along with bridging diverse linguistic traditions, cultures, and schools of thought across the nation, it plays a vital role in strengthening national unity and cultural synthesis,” stated Prof. Vasala Varaprasad while addressing the Hindi Fortnight (Hindi Pakhwada) celebrations as the chief guest at Sri Raja Rajeshwara Government Arts & Science College (SRR GASC), Karimnagar. He delivered a special lecture focusing on the significance, global expansion, and burgeoning employment opportunities of Hindi in the digital era.
Addressing the student gathering, Prof. Varaprasad emphasized that cultivating expression, writing, and translation competencies in Hindi through the creative use of digital media is the need of the hour. “Hindi serves as a crucial bridge for dialogue and synergy among various Indian languages,” he remarked, urging students to develop linguistic affinity and advance by integrating Hindi with modern technical skills.
Presiding over the function, College Principal Prof. K. Ramakrishna noted that the digital revolution has opened new horizons for the promotion and global outreach of Hindi. “The footprint of Hindi is expanding rapidly across the internet, social media, digital journalism, online education, artificial intelligence, and translation services. Today, Hindi is not merely a language of literature and conversation; it has emerged as a vehicle of science, technology, communication, and viable career opportunities,” he observed. Prof. Ramakrishna commended L. Komura Reddy, Head of the Department of Hindi and Program Convener, for meticulously organizing the event, and extended his best wishes and congratulations to all participating students.
As part of the Hindi Fortnight celebrations, various literary competitions, including essay writing, poetry recitation, and elocution/debating, were conducted. Meritorious students were felicitated with merit certificates and prizes by the dignitaries. Applauding the creative and literary flair of the students, the guests encouraged them to delve deeper into Hindi language and literature studies.
The event concluded on an enthusiastic and dignified note, underscoring the preservation and promotion of the language, linguistic awareness among youth, and the extensive prospects for Hindi in a digital world.
The programme was attended by special guests Mr. Kanakayya (Junior Lecturer), Mrs. Suneetha, and M.D. Ali Khan from Vivekananda College. SRR GASC IQAC Coordinator Harjoth Kaur, Head of the Telugu Department Burla Chandrashekar, faculty members, and a large number of students were present.
