KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 28, 2026: Grama Bharathi organised Satavahana Grameena Santha (Shandy) at the Revenue gardens in front of the Collectorate in Karimnagar town on Monday to promote organic products produced by farmers in Karimnagar district.
A total of 40 stalls were set up, displaying various organic food products produced by farmers through Farmers Producer Organisations (FPOs), handloom products, and other items that attracted visitors.
The Santha (Shandy) was formally inaugurated by senior citizen and Grama Bharathi general secretary Pendyala Kesava Reddy, eminent neurologist Dr Vikram Singh Thakur and others. On this occasion, they urged the people to adopt indigenous products at the Grameena Santha.
Advising people to adopt Swadeshi products, and recalling how it became a weapon during the freedom movement, they pointed out: “We will only be able to become self-dependent by adopting Swadeshi; it is the weapon through which the country gained independence. There was some reason that Swadeshi was used as a weapon at that time.”
Telangana prantha Grama Vikas Sanyojak Jinna Satyanarayana Reddy, Sahakara Bharathi district vice president N Shankaraiah, Grama Bharathi district president Galepelli Nageshwar, general secretary K Muninder, vice president K Madhu, secretary G Swapna, Grama Vikas district sanyojak Narsinga Rao and others were also present.
