JAGTIAL, SEPTEMBER 25, 2026: A five-day training programme for Krishi Sakhis was inaugurated at the Rythu Vedika, Medipalli Mandal, Jagtial District, by District Agriculture Officer V. Bhaskar, on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Agriculture Officer stated that under the National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF), 2,875 farmers, 46 Krishi Sakhis and 23 clusters in Jagtial District are being covered through awareness and training programmes on natural farming. Around 125 farmers are being identified in each cluster.
During the five-day training, Krishi Sakhis were trained on soil testing, Jeevamrutham, Beejamrutham, Ghanajeevamrutham, Neemasthram, Agniasthram, Brahmasthram and Dashaparni Kashayam, including their preparation and application methods. The differences between natural farming and organic farming were also explained.
Deputy Director of Agriculture Sri Sudhakar explained the 16 essential plant nutrients and their importance for soil and crop health.
District Natural Farming Nodal Officer Sri S. Srinivas explained the importance of improving soil organic carbon and soil fertility through natural farming practices. He also explained the roles and responsibilities of Krishi Sakhis, crop registration through the Krishi Map App, and field demonstration activities.
Pendli Sampath Kumar, Secretary, Janavikas Rural Development Society (JVRDS), encouraged the Krishi Sakhis to make effective use of the five-day training and disseminate the knowledge gained to farmers at the village level. He emphasised promoting low-cost natural farming practices while protecting soil health.
The programme was attended by Medipalli Mandal Agriculture Officer Shaheed, Krishi Sakhis, JVRDS Programme Coordinator Pesari Raju, and others.
