Festive atmosphere greets students on school opening day in government schools

Uniforms, textbooks, notebooks, pens were distributed on the first day of reopening of schools

The Collector also took measures for the sprucing up the schools by taking all repairs in the government schools

KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 12, 2024: Teachers of various government schools have given a warm welcome to the school children on the first day of reopening of the schools and they made every effort to make it a memorable moment in Karimnagar district on Wednesday.

Even as Collector Pamela Satpathy took initiatives to spruce up and give a face lift by taking various developmental works under ‘Amma Adarsha patashala’ programme, the government teachers have decorated the school premises with mango leaves, banana and coconut leaves and special welcome boards to welcome the students.

At ZPHS Odyaram in Gangadhara mandal, a festive atmosphere prevailed with the students being welcomed with flowers amid traditional ‘mangala vayidyam’ (band) and distribution of sweets, textbooks, pens and uniforms on the reopening day. The students were also made to offer prayers to Goddess Saraswathi on the occasion.

Samagra Shiksha Abhiyaan (SSA) Hyderabad Joint Director Peguda Rajiv participated in the celebrations. Speaking on the occasion, he called upon the students to utilise all the facilities provided by the government and study hard to excel in their chosen career. He also informed the teachers to conduct ‘Badi bata’ (enrollment drive) successful and enroll more students into government schools and also provide quality teaching to the students. SSA quality coordinator Karra Ashok Reddy, school headmaster A Prabhakar Rao, teachers and others were also present.
