KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 20, 2024: Thanks to the weekend and Raksha bandhan festival, the commuters, who are on their return journey to Hyderabad, were facing the brunt of TGSRTC due to shortage of bus services to Hyderabad and other routes.
The Karimnagar RTC bus station complex is packed to the brim with the arrival of hordes of commuters to travel and reach various destinations. At all the platforms, the passengers were seen eagerly for the arrival of the buses.
There are more passengers to travel to Hyderabad, the RTC authorities are deploying very few buses. They are not even plying the luxury and AC buses, complained a private college lecturer D Sagar. He suggested that RTC authorities to operate buses as per the demand from the commuters and do not cause woes to the passengers.
Thanks to the introduction of free buses to the womenfolk, the RTC had reduced the buses operation during to peak hours and forcing the passengers to strand for several hours at bus stations.
The employees were struggling to get the buses on time during the morning and evening office hours. The passengers are forced to wait for at least 45 minutes to one hour for the arrival of bus at Jagtial bus station to proceed to Karimnagar, said Aditya, a bank employee. What is wrong if the RTC operates more buses during the peak hours, he questioned.
When contacted, the RTC officials said that they were operating the buses frequently without causing any hardships to the passengers. However, following the weekend and Raksha bandhan festival, the commuters rush was more on Tuesday and assured the restoration of normalcy of bus services as per passengers.
