
HYDERABAD, JUNE 05, 2025: Officials of the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana, raided the residence of a habitual offender in Moosarambagh, Malakpet, Hyderabad, and seized a huge stock of drugs suspected to be spurious.
Accused Puvvada Lakshmana, a habitual offender involved in various spurious drug cases in the State, illegally stocked drugs at his residence. Four varieties of suspected spurious drugs, including antidiabetics, antihypertensive drugs, and abortion kits, of total worth Rs. 5.21 lakhs, were seized during the raid.

In an official release here on Thursday, DCA Director-General Shanawaz Qasim said that acting on credible information regarding the illegal procurement of drugs, special teams were formed, and a raid was conducted at the residence of Puvvada Lakshmana in Moosarambagh, Malakpet, Hyderabad, which is an unlicensed premises, on Wednesday. Puvvada Lakshmana is a habitual offender with several spurious drug cases pending against him in the State.
The DCA officials detected and seized the following drugs;

Dapacose-10 Tablets (Dapagliflozin Tablets 10 mg) Batch No. YTQD24010, Mfg. Dt. Aug-2024, Exp. Dt. July-2026, Claimed as Manufactured by: Innova Captab Ltd., Solan, Himachal Pradesh, Claimed as marketed by J.B. Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Mumbai

Suspected spurious drugs worth ₹5.21 lakh were seized by the Drugs Control Administration officials during the raid. G. Prasad, Assistant Director, Rangareddy, D. Saritha, Assistant Director, Secunderabad, G. Anil, Drugs Inspector, Malakpet, B. Govind Singh, Drugs Inspector, Secunderabad, and M. Surendranath, Drugs Inspector, Begumpet, were among the officers who carried out the raid.
DCA officers lifted the samples for analysis. Further investigation will be carried out, and appropriate action will be taken as per the law against all the offenders involved.
