
HYDERABAD, MAY 22, 2025: The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad, marked the International Day for Biodiversity 2025 with a vibrant and environmentally conscious initiative aimed at fostering ecological awareness and sustainability. In line with this year’s global theme, “Harmony with Nature and Sustainable Development,” the University organised a Tree Plantation Drive, led by Prof. N. Nagaraju, Vice-Chancellor of EFLU.
The drive included the planting of indigenous tree species in the university campus, with a special focus on identifying and labelling native flora. This activity was aimed at contributing to environmental conservation and raising awareness about local biodiversity and its critical role in sustainable development.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Nagaraju emphasised the university’s commitment to caring for the environment and its role in encouraging students to become responsible and environmentally aware individuals. The initiative drew participation from the Registrar (I/c) Prof. K. Narasimha Rao, Prof. T. Srivani, Dean CPD, Sr.faculty, staff, and students, reinforcing a shared commitment to environmental conservation.
