HYDERABAD, AUGUST 19, 2026: The State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC), Telangana has convened its 50th Quarterly Review Meeting for the quarter ended June 2026 to review the performance of Banks, today i.e., on 19.08.2026, at Praja Bhavan, Hyderabad.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, Deputy Chief Minister, called banks to align with the State’s Telangana Rising 2047 vision of achieving a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and $3 trillion by 2047, stressing that financial performance must be judged by outcomes such as rural income growth, women’s entrepreneurship and job creation along with target fulfilment.
He reviewed progress in agriculture (₹52,337 crore, 28.91% of target) and MSME lending (₹91,374 crore, 39.64% of target), flagged high agricultural NPAs, and urged timely, proactive credit to farmers and MSMEs, reactivation of inactive Business Correspondents, and a shift from welfare to enterprise finance for Self-Help Groups. Further, he said Telangana is emerging as a prime destination for global and domestic corporate investment with major infrastructure projects such as the Musi riverfront, Future City, Regional Ring Road and Metro expansion. He appealed to emphasise the importance of achieving the set objectives of Telangana Rising 2047.
Neelesh Dwivedi, CGM, SBI, Hyderabad Circle presented the performance of the banks in Telangana during Q1 of Financial Year 2026-27 as under:
- Total Deposits of the banks grew by 49,522 crores during the quarter, and the total deposits were at Rs.9,92,947 crores.
- Total Advances with Banks grew by 42,891 crores during the quarter, and the advances of all banks were at Rs.12,76,748 Crores.
- CD ratio continues to be above 100%, and it was maintained at 58% at the end of the quarter
- During the First Quarter of the current Financial Year, Banks have disbursed Short Term Production Loans amounting to 20,069 crores, achieving 34.51% of Kharif targets.
- Banks have disbursed 32,268 crores as Investment Credit to Agri. Allied, Agri. Infra and Agri. Ancillary activities achieving 38.36% of the annual targets.
- Banks have disbursed educational loans amounting to 134 Crores and Housing loans amounting to Rs. 1,402 Crores under Priority Sector during the quarter
- Banks have disbursed Rs. 91,374 Crores to Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) segment achieving 40% of the annual targets.
- Banks together have disbursed an amount of Rs.1,46,096 crores to various sections of borrowers under Priority Sector, recording an achievement of 66% of annual targets.
On the Financial Inclusion front;
- Banks in the State have 57 lakh PMJDY accounts in their books, and 112.44 lakh, i.e., 84.18% of the PMJDY accounts are seeded with Aadhaar. RuPay cards are issued to 92.36 lacs i.e., 69.14% of the PMJDY accounts.
- As far as the social security schemes are concerned, Banks have covered 73 lakh customers under PMSBY and 109.52 lakh customers under PMJJBY. 28.99 lakh customers have subscribed for Atal Pension Yojana scheme.

While speaking on the occasion, Shri Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Principal Secretary (Finance), urged banks to play a pivotal role in achieving Telangana Vision 2047. He appealed to banks to align their Annual Credit Plans in line with the State’s Vision 2047. He said that currently the State is growing at 10-11%; he aspired banks to support achieving a 13% growth rate through stronger, targeted lending.
Sri. Chinmoy Kumar, Regional Director, RBI, Hyderabad emphasized that under the revised Lead Bank Scheme framework, banks must designate a specific senior functionary to represent them in District Consultative Committee (DCC) meetings. He also highlighted the importance of Credit–Deposit (CD) ratio to be reported at the place of credit utilization and cautioned banks for accurate reporting. He called for urgent action to address inactive Business Correspondents (BCs) and fill gaps in unbanked revenue centres. Banks directed to appoint fixed BCs where ever required and improve the share of women BCs, in line with NSFI 2025-30 objectives in a phased manner. He urged all stakeholders to work in collaboration and prepare a database of MSME operating on identified MSME Clusters with an objective to saturate all eligible MSMEs with formal Institutional Credit. He appealed banks to prioritize ReKYC of overdue accounts and to improve the settlement of unclaimed deposits.
Ms. D Divya, CEO, SERP, Ms. Manasa Gangotri Kata, Director, DFS, and Shri. B Uday Bhaskar, CGM, NABARD, Hyderabad also spoke on the occasion. Senior Officials from the line departments of Govt of Telangana, Government of India, executives from Public Sector Banks, Private Sector Banks, RRB, SFBs, Payment Banks, representatives of various Federations of Agriculture and MSME etc.,
