Do-gooders and NGO celebrates birthday at orphanages in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 23, 2024: The trend of celebrating birthdays and festivals at orphanages is engaging the do-gooders in the city. The motive behind the celebrations with them is to make them feel privileged and a part of our society.

Accordingly, on the occasion of birthday of Kakkirala Akhil on Saturday, the Memu Saitham Yuva Sena Foundation, a voluntary organisation in Karimnagar town, celebrated the birthday at the orphanages ion various parts of the town on Saturday.

At Rekurthi old age home, they had donated an air cooler following the advent of summer season, at the Blind school, they had donated ceiling fans and sweets and savouries to the inmates. They also distributed sarees to the poor womenfolk. Memu Saitham Yuva Sena foundation president Chakilam Swapna Srinivas, Roopa Hanuru and others participated in the programme.

Similarly, the voluntary organisation had celebrated mass ‘seemantham’ to the pregnant women at Anganwadi centre in Karimnagar town. Karimnagar RdO Maheshwar, DMHO Dr Sujatha, foundation president Chakilam Swapna, Anganwadi teacher Swaroopa Rani and others were present.

On this occasion, the pregnant women were presented with sweets and fruits. They were also given bangles as is a tradition. The speakers educated the pregnant women on the importance of eating healthy and nutritional food for the benefit of mother and child.
