PEDDAPALLI, AUGUST 31, 2024: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Batti Vikramarka has rekindled hopes for the revival of the closed 62.5 MWs, Ramagundam B Thermal power station, the first thermal power station of the Ramagundam coal belt maintained by TGSGENCO which was closed on March 31, 2019 following the recommendations made by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) because of its age.
The deputy Chief Minister during his to the district visited the Ramagundam B Thermal power station lands along with the Minister for IT and Industries D Sridhar Babu and Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar, the local legislators and others on Saturday. The local leaders had staged several agitations to revive the closed Ramagundam B Thermal power station.
On the occasion, Mr Batti Vikramarka said that the Ramagundam B Thermal power station would be an 800 MWs power plant with the TGSGENCO and Singareni Collieries as a joint project. He said that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had also in principle accepted the revival of the Ramagundam thermal power station.
He said that they would soon call for tenders for the power project and informed the officials to submit proposals for the land acquisition for the power project. Peddapalli MP G Vamshi Krishna, Government Whip Adluri Laxman Kumar, Ramagundam, MLA Makhan Singh Raj Thakur and others were also present.
