JAGTIAL, AUGUST 22, 2024: In order to empower the students about the need to protect environment and for a sustainable development, SKNR Government Arts and Science college, Jagtial town, has constituted a Climate Smart Green Campus Club with the students on Thursday.
The Green Campus club would be headed by Botany department head and NSS progrmme officer Adepu Srinivas, who would guide the students on conservation of water, manage waste and educate about climate change. The club members would also strive for the transformation of their college campus as environment friendly and convert the conventional campus into Green campus.
Principal Prof Arigela Ashok, who inaugurated the club, said that each and everyone should play a responsible role for the protection of environment from pollution. He said that the club aims to weave environmental concern into the daily routine of the educational bodies and to create an air of conscientiousness among students.
NCC officer Lt Parlapalli Raju, faculty members Sai Madhukar, Govardhan, K Srinivas, Librarian K Surender students of the green club, NCC and NSS volunteers were also present.
