Awareness programmes and Quiz mark National Science Day in Govt Degree Colleges

KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 28, 2024: Science exhibitions, quiz competitions, skits and awareness programmes were held as part of the National Science Day celebrations at various government degree colleges in the integrated Karimnagar district on Wednesday.

The Government Degree College, Gambhiraopet, Rajanna-Sircilla district, celebrated the National Science day by organising an awareness programme and conduct of quiz competitions for the students. Principal V Vijaya Lakshmi launched the celebrations by paying floral tributes to Sir CV Raman. Speaking on the occasion, she called upon the students to embrace science and explore its wonders and dream for a bright future of the nation.

National Science Day coordinator Adivishnu explained the importance of National Science Day and invention of Raman Effect on this day in 1928. He said that this year the theme of the celebrations was ‘Indigenous technology for Vikasit Bharath’. Vice principal Dass, TASK coordinator J Sravan, IQAC coordinator Y Anjaneyulu, WEC coordinator V Vani, NSS coordinators P Dharmapuri, Bixamaiah and Krishna Prasad and others were present. Students Anil, Chakri and Praveen made a power point presentation on the national science day.

Similarly, the National Science day was celebrated at GDC Jammikunta in Karimnagar district. Paying floral tributes to Raman, Principal D Rajashekar, spoke on the importance of National science day. IQAC coordinator A Srinivas Reddy, faculty members, M Rammohan Rao, Suvarna, Swaroopa Rani, Sreelatha, Eshwaraiah, B Mahender Rao, L Ravinder, Ravi, Prashanth and others were also present. Students Saikumar, Arunraj, Mamatha participated in the programme.
