KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 11, 2024: An awareness seminar on ‘Drug Abuse & Trafficking’ was organized by Alaya (Temple) Foundation under the auspices of NSS at SRR Government Arts and Science (Autonomous) College, Karimnagar, on Wednesday.
On this occasion, the Principal of the college Y Satyanarayana explained the way youth are addicted to drugs and called upon their peers to make them aware of the side effects caused by drugs. Similarly, College Vice Principal T Rajaiah said that building a dynamic society rests on the students who are the future citizens of India.
IQAC co-ordinator Harjoth Kaur said, “When the youth say ‘No’ without a fear to peer pressure when forced to have drugs, they will succeed in their life. T Nataraj Goud, the Gastroenterologist, who was the chief guest, spoke about the diseases that the youth are getting and ruining their future due to the use of drugs.
V Madhavi, ACP, Anti-Narcotics Team, Karimnagar, said that the youth should come forward to curb drug use, use all kinds of government helpline numbers, sensitize the parents to admit those who have fallen sick due to drug consumption to the rehabilitation centre, cooperate with the police system to curb drug use and become drug-free.
Members of Temple Foundation T. Ramesh (CEO), M. Rajender (Additional CEO), K. Nagaraju (Deputy CEO) said P. Narahari IAS, the founder of Alaaya is dedicated to community welfare services like child development, personality development, youth welfare, rural development, social work and education and informed that the youth who play a very important role in the society should not turn to drugs and play a vital role in the development of the country. On behalf of the temple foundation, they informed that they will help the students in the process of providing the necessary guidance.
