KARIMNAGAR, JANUARY 03, 2025: The Blue Bells High School, Hanuman Nagar, Karimnagar, celebrated Women’s Teachers Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of social reformer and first woman teacher in the country Savithribhai Phule on Friday.
School principal Janga Sunitha Manohar Reddy launched the celebrations by offering floral tributes to the portrait of Savithribhai Phule. Speaking on the occasion, Sunitha said that Savithribhai was the first woman teacher in the country and she played a crucial role for the empowerment of women and girl child through education and opening schools for girls.
Stating that the Telangana government had recognized her services and declared Savithribhai Phule’s birth anniversary as Women’s Teachers Day on January 3, she said that Savithribhai played a crucial role in the eradication of untouchability. On this occasion, the school management felicitated all the women teachers of the school.
