HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 01, 2024: The Himayath Nagar cluster meeting, held at the auditorium of Sister Nivedita School on Saturday, brought together the pedagogical leaders, educators, and academic coordinators of all the CBSE schools that fall under this cluster to review the progress of the academic year and plan for the upcoming session. The meeting focused on CBSE notifications, curriculum updates, and strategies to address emerging challenges.
The meeting commenced with a presentation on the overall performance of the schools and their contributions to the cluster. The cluster head, Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari, welcomed the esteemed principals following the prayer and lighting the lamp. Dr. Sanjeev Nampally, Treasurer, of Hyderabad Sahodhaya Schools Complex explained the vision of the HSSC to the members of the group. He had also emphasised on the enhanced focus on soft skills with a new initiative to integrate communication and leadership skills into the existing curriculum, aimed at improving one’s confidence and employability, ultimately. “The cluster aims to create a more balanced educational experience by encouraging students to engage in activities beyond academics.”
He had also focussed on the objective of School Quality Assessment and Assurance Framework (SQAAF) fire certification, 2 board examination system, Affiliated Schools Activities Report (ASAR) APP proposed by CBSE and the need of credit framework. His session also addressed several challenges faced by the cluster schools. This was followed by a presentation on National Curriculum Framework – School Education by the principal of the host school, Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari, Cluster Head, Sampaata Cluster. Her presentation ended with a note that NCF – SE focusses on process management and not on people management. The importance of extracurricular activities was also discussed, with a plan to increase student participation in sports, arts, and cultural events.
The meeting, then, proceeded with the explanation of CBSE circulars of the month August by Dr. Poorna Devi Srivatsav and she had provided a comprehensive review of the current academic landscape and set clear goals for the future to the participants. The members of the cluster took a vow to commit themselves and to address the challenges faced by their schools. Finally, the vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Srikanth Kota, Treasurer. The meeting ended with warm wishes for each other.
