HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 06, 2024: The primary sections of Sister Nivedita School, Ameerpet, Hyderabad, celebrated the auspicious festival of Ganesh Chathurthi with gaiety and religious fervour on Friday.
It is believed that Lord Ganesha, the symbol of wisdom, bestows his blessings on Earth during this festival and removes every obstacle. The spirit of festivity and devotion filled the atmosphere on the school premises as the young students of classes 1 and 2 celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with great enthusiasm and zeal amid chanting of “Ganapathi Moriya, Ganesh Maharaj ki Jai etc”. The celebrations began with a warm welcome and handing over Eco-friendly Ganesha as token of love to the Principal Dr T Lalitha Kumari
The celebrations began with a Ganesha prayer song. Further the programme continued with a magnificent skit. The skit showcased the story behind celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi. The children enacting in the skit as mother , father and children and how a family is celebrating the Ganesh Chathurthi and children asks their mother why Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated and its importance and why and how Lord Ganesha got the head of an elephant.
The skit also highlighted why we pray to Lord Ganesha first before starting any work and how and why he got the name Vighneshvara, the Lord of obstacles ( remover of obstacles ).
In addition , witnessing the performances of children, one child who got dressed up like Lord Ganesha appeared in front of the gathering as the Lord himself and rendered a few words and gave a speech to students on importance of using eco – friendly Ganesha. Finally the programme concluded with dance performances and songs.
After the celebrations, to foster creativity students of classes 1 and 2 actively participated and engaged themselves in molding eco -friendly clay into adorable Ganesh idols.
Addressing the gathering, Principal of the school Dr.T.Lalitha Kumari and Correspondent of the school Rtn.Hari Hara Prasad appreciated the young participants and wished everyone and urged everyone to use eco – friendly Ganeshaas it reduces water pollution, conserves natural resources and sets an example for future generations. Chairman Dr. Sudhakar Rao Polsani conveyed his wishes to the students, parents and the staff on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Overall ,the Ganesh chaturthi celebration by classes 1 and 2 at SNS was a vibrant and joyful event. It helped the children to learn , create and enrich the values of devotion and cultural heritage. The purpose of the celebration was to let students stay rooted with Indian culture.
