Achievers School Students distribute Clay Ganesh idols to devotees in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 06, 2024:  Students of Achievers Active High School, Kothi Rampur, Karimnagar, in association with Alliance Club International District 137A, have launched a unique campaign educating the people to worship clay Ganesh idols by taking out a rally and distributing clay idols of Lord Ganesha to the devotees on Friday.

On the eve of Ganesh Chathurthi festival, the students dressed up as Lord Ganeshas and other mythological characters took out a procession in the vicinity of the school and distributed clay idols. They distributed around 200 clay idols to the residents of the town. The passersby stopped after seeing the students and collected the clay idols from them. During the event, members of Alliance Club International District 137A unveiled a poster on the importance of worshipping Clay Ganapati idols and protect the water bodies from pollution.

Speaking on the occasion, School Director Chermala Venkateshwarlu said that the use of Plaster of Paris (PoP) idols was causing environmental pollution and affecting the water bodies and its flora and fauna. “We need to keep the spirit of the festival intact, but not harm the eco-system by using idols made of PoP,” he said and appealed to the people to worship on clay idols.
