NEW DELHI, SEPTEMBER 27, 2024: Nirmal village in Nirmal district has been recognized as the Best Tourism Village in the “Crafts” category, while Somasila village in Nagarkurnool district has been honored in the “Spiritual – Wellness” category, as part of the national competition organized by the Ministry of Tourism across eight distinct categories for the year 2024.
As part of the World Tourism Day celebrations, the awards ceremony took place at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, on Friday, presided over by Union Minister for Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. The event featured the Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, as the esteemed Chief Guest.
The awards were received by Faizan Ahmed, Additional Collector of Nirmal District, and S. Pentayya, President of the Nirmal Toys and Arts Society. T. Narasimha, Tourism Officer for Somasila, also accepted the award on behalf of Somasila village.
