Kondagattu and Illandakunta temples would be developed under Ramayana Circuit, assures Bandi Sanjay Kumar

KARIMNAGAR, JULY 07, 2024: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has assured to development the ancient and historic Sri Anjaneya Swamy temple at Kondagattu and Sri Ramachandra Swamy temple at Illandakunta under the Ramayan Circuit of the Union government.

Ramayana Circuit is one of the fifteen thematic circuits identified for development under the Swadesh Darshan scheme of Ministry of Tourism. The Ministry has initially identified fifteen destinations including Sitamarhi, Bihar for development under the Ramayana Circuit theme namely Ayodhya, Nandigram, Shringverpur & Chitrakoot (Uttar Pradesh), Sitamarhi, Buxar & Darbhanga (Bihar), Chitrakoot (Madhya Pradesh), Mahendragiri (Odisha), Jagdalpur (Chattisgarh), Nashik & Nagpur (Maharashtra), Bhadrachalam (Telangana), Hampi (Karnataka) and Rameshwaram (Tamil Nadu).

In a free-wheeling chat with newsmen in Karimnagar town on Sunday, the Union Minister said that he would definitely take measures for the development of the Kondagattu and Illandakunta temple shrines in his parliament constituency. Reiterating that he would develop Vemulawada Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy devasthanam by including in PRASAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation And Spiritual Augmentation Drive) scheme, he alleged that the BRS government had failed to submit proposals to include Vemulawada temple under PRASAD scheme in spite of several pleas.

With regard to the Karimnagar-Hasanparthy railway line to connect to Secunderabad, he said that the survey work for the railway project taken up at a cost of Rs 20 crore was completed and assured to take up development at the earliest. He said that the Smart city project was extended following the requests made by Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and other states and added that the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation would get additional funds under Smart city programme for the development of the town. He said that he would take all measures for the development of the Karimnagar parliament constituency.

To a query, he said that MLAs and public representatives should resign to their posts if they are interested to join the BJP. He also added that the BJP would not invited the tainted leaders having ED and CBI cases against them. Welcoming the Congress party decision, which made former Rajya Sabha member K Keshava Rao to resign to his post, he asked why the Congress which was encouraging defections was not forcing the MLAs to resign to their posts. Demanding the Congress party to ensure that the defected MLAs are resigned and seek fresh mandate, he said that the BJP would sweep all the by-elections in the state.

He also hoped that the two-Telugu speaking states would resolve long-pending issues amicably through talks. Alleging that former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was again planning to provoke the people of the Telangana on the pretext of talks between two CMs, he informed both the CMs not to give any change for the BRS president. To a query, he said that the appointment of BJP state new president would be taken by the national leadership.
