Devotees donate bulls and cows to the temple shrine as part of the ritual of ‘kode mokku’ to Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy devasthanam in Vemulawada
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, SEPTEMBER 30, 2024: Government whip and Vemulawada legislator Adi Srinivas has launched the second phase of distribution of cattle including cows and oxen belonging to the Goushala of Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy devasthanam, to the farmers at no cost in Vemulawada temple town on Monday.
The district administration has decided to distribute the cows and oxen to use them for the agricultural requirements in July this year. In the first phase, they distributed around 1500 cows and oxen to the farmers to use them for agricultural purposes only.
In the second phase, the Government Whip distributed around 500 cows and oxen to the eligible farmers after performing traditional puja rituals to the Goumatha at Thippapur on the outskirts of Vemulawada temple town. The devasthanam authorities has taken up the distribution of bulls and cows to the poor farmers to use them for agricultural requirements as the existing Goushala of the temple was overcrowded with the donations of cattle by the devotees.
Speaking on the occasion, Government Whip Adi Srinivas said that they were distributing the bulls and cows to the eligible poor farmers as per the directions of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. He informed the farmers, who secured the bulls and cows from the devasthanam, as the prasadam of the temple shrine and use them only for agricultural requirements. He warned of stern of penal action if they resort to utilise the cattle for other purposes and assured to provide treatment of the animals to the Veterinary doctors of the temple shrine.
