KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 25, 2024: Students of Alphores e-techno school, Kothapalli on the outskirts of Karimnagar town, celebrated the traditional Bathukamma festival well in advance with pomp and gaiety on their school campus on Wednesday.
Bathukamma is a floral festival that celebrates the cultural spirit of Telangana. The flowers are stacked in the conical shape of a temple gopuram. The festival symbolises the beauty of nature and the eternal glory of Goddess Gauri. The girl students danced around the Bathukamma singing the traditional songs.
The students celebrated the Bathukamma samburalu with traditional attire, songs, dances and drama about the festival’s folklore. The celebrations began by offering prayers to Goddess Gauri by Alphores educational institutions chairman V Narender Reddy. On this occasion, he explained the cultural significance of the flowers used in the festival, Navararthri celebrations, Shami puja etc as part of Dasara festivities. He also said that the Bathukamma festival is a symbol of the beauty of nature and the eternal glory of Goddess Gauri.
