KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 02, 2024: Students of St George’s Nino Block (CBSE) and Paradise School, Theegalaguttapalli, Karimnagar town, celebrated the Bathukamma (festival of flowers) with much pomp and gaiety on their school premises on Tuesday evening.
The girl students and women teachers arrived in their best attire. After offering prayers to the Goddess Gauri, the students and teachers prepared the Bathukammas by arranging different varieties of flowers in a conical shape. On the occasion, students were told about the importance of celebrating Bathukamma. They were also told about the significance of various traditional flowers such as Thangedu, Gunugu, Marigold, Chrysanthemum, Lotus etc and its medicinal values.
The atmosphere was electric with girl students and teachers clad in traditional attires and jewellery, singing and dancing around the beautiful floral formations of Goddess Gouri in her praise with religious fervour and unmatched enthusiasm.
Chairman P Fatima Reddy addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of Bathukamma in Telangana. He emphasized the importance of celebrating this festival with joy and enthusiasm, showcasing beautiful flowers and traditional bathukamma songs. The programme was attended by Principals Vasanta, Bhargav and Niranjan, Vice Principals Madhu and Prasad Reddy, In-charges Sandhya, Sangeetha, and Swapna, Teachers, Students and Parents.
