Collector informs farmers to approach procurement centres to secure MSP to the paddy produce

KARIMNAGAR, APRIL 04, 2024: Collector Pamela Satpathy has informed the farmers to shift their paddy produce to the nearest procurement centres to secure minimum support price (MSP) for their hard-earned produce.

The Collector had formally inaugurated the procurement centre at Manakondur marketyard centre in association with the Hyderabad Agriculture Cooperative Association (HACA) on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, she said that the government had fixed MSP of Rs 2,203 per quintal for the ‘A’ grade variety of paddy and Rs 2,183 for normal variety of paddy. She appealed to the farmers not to resort to distress sales by approaching the middlemen and secure the MSP by visiting the procurement centres opened by the government.

Following the sizzling heat wave conditions in the district, the Collector assured to take all necessary measures to protect the hamilies by providing adequate ORS and drinking water arrangements at the centres. She also assured to take several precautionary measures to protect the farmers from the sweltering heat waves in the district.

She informed the farmers to secure the paddy with less than 17 per cent moisture content to secure MSP to the paddy at the centres. Additional Collector Laxmi Kiran, DAO Srinivas, Marketing officer Padmavathi, Civil Supplies DM Rajanikanth, DSDO Gaurishankar, tahsilar Raju, MPDO Narsaiah, MAO Srinivas Reddy, HACA representative Laxman and others were also present.
